What's not to like about bards? They're handy with rapiers, are able to charm their way out of anything, and have levels of general and obscure knowledge that can (on occasion) put wizards to shame.
The bard in 1st Edition AD&D was a force to be reckoned with: they started as fighters, then switched to the thief class and finally had to qualify as druids before they could be considered bards. Many of the bard's concepts are taken from Celtic myth, so naturally I had to draw on the site's database of Irish and Welsh names, but to add a bit of variety I've also added names from the world of blues and country music. No doubt future versions will incorporate an even wider selection.
